Thank you Gina and Linus for making me part of your special day.  Many thanks to Kacie for capturing all the moments of the grooms getting ready and for the beautiful images of Gina and Linus’s first dance.  Absolutely love working with you Kacie!

A Very Special Surprise Proposal // Virginia + Mike

In the latter portion of 2013, I was afforded the opportunity to witness and be a part of something extraordinary.

One very different Saturday afternoon, Mike had planned to propose to Virginia but he ran into one uncommon problem.  You see, the Saturday he was going to propose to Virginia happened to be the day that the U.S. Federal Government shut down.

I received an email from Mike a couple of days before the proposal.

“Hey Julie,

This whole monument closing thing is a cosmic joke. I’ve been planning this for months and the last thing I considered was the federal government shutting down. It’s not ideal but I’m still going to do it.”

It happened. It was beautiful. It was perfect.

The whole monument was filled with tears of joy and what we felt witnessing Mike’s proposal was unforgettable.  It was something we all needed at that time.

There were A Capella singers, a horse drawn carriage, and whole lot of spectators witnessing this joyous moment.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
