Los Angeles Toy Ride Charity Bike Run

Today I had a rare opportunity that I just could not pass up.  Every year, Motorcycle Clubs from all around Southern California come together to deliver toys to needy children.  An awesome friend of mine offered to have me tag along and document this amazing event.  My day began with a hearty breakfast at John’s house followed by an opportunity to shoot some details of their bikes!  John’s dog Daisy (a Bull Mastiff that weighs in at 170 pounds!)  kept me company!  She is such a sweetheart!

We then headed to a larger gathering of bikers (roughly about 100 bikes!) where I was able to photograph more COOL BIKES!!!  From there we continued to the Toys for Tots Event in Downtown Los Angeles.  I was in awe when I saw more than 2000 bikes gathered around for this event.  Each one of these bikers had brought Christmas gifts for underprivileged kids and it really was heartwarming to see these tough guys holding children’s gifts!  I was so glad to be part of this wonderful event.  I felt warm and fuzzy.

I want to give a special thanks to John, Skip, and Dave for chaperoning me at this event.  For me the most exciting part of the day was taking most of these photos from the back of John’s badass Road King!  Such an adrenaline rush.

All of these photos were taken with Canon Rebel XS and with 50 1.8. Sometimes, it’s better when you are stuck with 1 lens.  So much simpler and it forces you to get creative.  It was a blast!
